Established in 2023, the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Sichuan Taikang Hospital currently has 6 professional and technical staff members, including 1 with a senior professional title and 5 with intermediate professional titles. In strict accordance with national standards, the Department has designated functional areas such as a transfusion compatibility testing laboratory, blood storage room, blood preprocessing room, blood dispensing room, and blood therapy room. It is equipped with specialized instruments and equipment, including a fully automated blood typing and cross-matching system, a blood component separator, smart blood storage refrigerators, a low-temperature blood processing workbench, a fully temperature-controlled intelligent plasma thawer, and a thromboelastography (TEG) analyzer. As an important clinical platform and treatment department, the Department of Transfusion Medicine always adheres to the core service principle of "safety, precision, and efficiency." Relying on advanced instruments and equipment, sophisticated testing techniques, a professional technical team, and a rigorous quality system, the Department provides comprehensive blood support and blood therapy services for clinical use.
Strengths and Specialties:
In addition to routine services such as blood typing, antibody screening, cross-matching and transfusion compatibility testing, precise matching and supply of clinical blood, diagnosis and management of adverse transfusion reactions, and consultation on perioperative blood management, the Department of Transfusion Medicine actively develops blood therapy-related services using internationally advanced equipment, building upon its traditional services. The main focus includes blood component collection (such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) collection, plateletpheresis, stem cell collection, erythrocytapheresis, and granulocytapheresis), blood component removal (such as lipid removal, platelet depletion, erythrocytapheresis, and leukapheresis), and blood component exchange (such as whole blood exchange, partial whole blood exchange, plasma exchange, and lymphoplasmabheresis). The Department of Transfusion Medicine will continue to optimize its processes to provide new treatment methods for multiple disciplines, fields, and diseases, offering patients more precise and personalized treatment options.
