The Department of Clinical Nutrition at Sichuan Taikang Hospital is primarily responsible for nutrition consultations for all hospital departments, nutritional risk screening and assessment for inpatients, nutritional intervention, enteral nutrition support therapy, and perioperative enhanced recovery nutrition management. It also provides appropriate therapeutic diets for our inpatients, such as diabetic meals and postpartum confinement meal plans. The Department currently operates a general nutrition clinic and an obstetrics and gynecology nutrition clinic. The general nutrition clinic provides standardized medical nutrition therapy for patients with chronic metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, those on hemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis, and those with hyperuricemia/gout, as well as for patients with conditions like emaciation, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic diarrhea/constipation, and cancer, and offers guidance on home enteral nutrition support. The obstetrics and gynecology nutrition clinic primarily provides detailed nutrition management for women in various life stages, including pre-conception, pregnancy and postpartum, and perimenopause, as well as for children.
